I Give You My Heart, You Take My Life

The heroine, Wan Jing, was sent as a hostage from a fallen kingdom. She has a special constitution called “Shared Heart, Shared Fate”: whoever she falls in love with receives a constant flow of her vitality and fortune, and the deeper her love, the faster she dies. She falls hopelessly in love with Xiao Wujin, the God of War who holds her captive. He exploits her love to triumph on the battlefield and dominate the court, yet treats her like dirt. After he uses and hurts her time and again, even pushing her forward to take a blade meant for the woman he loves, Wan Jing's life is nearly spent. At last, she comes to her senses. To survive, she has to “kill” her love for Xiao Wujin. She deliberately distances herself from him, betrays him, and even hurts him, doing everything she can to extinguish her feelings. As her love fades, so does Xiao Wujin's power, and he falls from the heights to rock bottom. At first, he's furious and confused. Then, when he discovers the truth, panic and madness take hold. The prince who once stood above everyone else now uses every means at his disposal, all to beg her to love him once more. And so begins an all-consuming game of “you run, I chase; the less you love me, the more I'll make you love me.” The balance of power is completely reversed: the former victim becomes the tormentor, and the man is sent through his own hell of regret and redemption.
