Taming the Beast

Serial of standalone stories; The content is very grim. Idealists, please steer clear... Heaven and Earth are not benevolent; they treat all things like straw dogs! The original meaning is that Heaven and Earth show no favoritism, and all things are equally part of the natural cycle. But when this idea enters the world of human affairs, it becomes something else entirely. The good are like candle flames, burning themselves to light dark alleys, yet easily snuffed out by the wind. The wicked are like mountain floods, bursting their banks and ruining fields. Yet when the waters recede, a lotus rises from the mud, and people call it “enlightenment.”
