(Suspense) + (From the Start) + (Instances) + (Supernatural) + (Wild Suspenseful Ideas) + (Rule Horror) This is a bizarre and fantastical world! (Readers, find your place and read patiently.) The asphalt road was sticky with rainwater. Su Daoxuan clutched his crumpled ID card at a crossroads, the hems of his trousers still flecked with mud from the countryside. The moment the light turned green, he glimpsed the ad display at the bus stop across the street changing its image. There were no products, just a line of black text: “Night-shift driver wanted. Requirements: Drive after midnight and pick up only passengers wearing white scarves. Address: 13 Huaian Road.” The rain suddenly turned cold. He rubbed his eyes, and the display had changed back to an ad for a drink. Just as he thought his eyes had played tricks on him, he found a gold-embossed card in his pocket. It had the same address on the front, while the back bore a crookedly written message: “Rule One: Don't ask where you're going.” Su Daoxuan gripped the card tightly, his fingertip brushing over the icy words. He looked toward Huaian Road. In the fog, a black car without a license plate seemed to be drifting by.
