Re:Zero: The Great Sage Flugel Arc

[Re:Zero] [The Great Sage Flugel Arc] [A Brand-New Parallel World Timeline] (The characters and their backgrounds may differ, since this takes place on a parallel timeline in the Re:Zero universe! For example, Beatrice’s purple butterfly eyes have become “purple butterfly eyes with silver as the dominant color,” and the artificial spirit has become a true spirit with the freedom to move about! Changes to the characters’ appearances and backgrounds are perfectly normal!) At dawn, I woke from a nightmare four hundred years old. The burn on my palm was scorching hot. The lucky stone in the clay jar beside my pillow had split in two, and my face stared back at me from its broken edge. Deep in those pupils were golden patterns, and a smile that did not belong to me. The elf girl Beatrice crouched on the windowsill. She said I had been calling out one name all night: Flugel. I snatched up the broken stone. Words appeared on it, written in a script unknown to this world, yet each one burned into my mind: The Sage’s blood has awakened. Find the Dragon’s Tear before dawn. Beatrice narrowed her eyes. “Who are you, really?” Outside, the morning bells shattered the mist, and golden light swept over the towers of the royal capital. I jumped out of bed and tucked the cracked stone into my robe. A young earth dragon licked my knuckles. Its warmth drove away the last embers of my dream. “Someone who got their date of death wrong.” I opened the door, letting the morning breeze fill my robe. “Come on. Dawn waits for no one.”
