I Told You to Play It Safe, System, but You Just Had to Get Me Killed

Synopsis:

Waking up one day, Wang Ergou finds himself a poor commoner in an ancient city in another world, barely scraping by. He had hoped to keep his head down and stay alive, but instead he is forced to bind himself to a bizarre System that shocks him with electricity if he doesn’t show off. From then on, his life hurtles down a path of forced recklessness and humiliating public disasters.

The System’s missions include, but are not limited to: publicly face-slapping the city lord’s son, then making a humblebrag; running naked in front of the Demon Cult’s Holy Maiden and shouting, “May immortal blessings endure forever!”; and humiliating an enemy general in front of a hundred thousand soldiers with stinky tofu… Every mission leaves Wang Ergou racking his brains and cringing so hard his toes curl, wishing he could vanish on the spot.

Yet the more he tries to make a fool of himself, the more the onlookers are awestruck, reaching epiphanies one after another: “This young man may seem absurd and unruly, but his actions secretly align with the Heavenly Dao. He shows off without even trying!” “Brilliant, absolutely brilliant!”

Just as Wang Ergou gradually gets “used to” this painful yet pleasurable life of milking the System, the ultimate mission arrives: Host, please pee a steaming hot stream onto the head of the Immortal Emperor Supreme.

Wang Ergou gazes up at the figure looming over the Ninth Heaven, whose might has endured through the ages, and sinks into deep thought: Is this reckless opportunity worth taking, or not?
