Splendid Nursery: A Lovely Mother Returns with Her Child in a Time of Turmoil

Yang Tian, an award-winning infant-care specialist, has spent ten years honing her expertise and made a name for herself in the industry. From scientifically feeding wealthy families' twins to soothing babies with difficult crying spells, there's nothing she can't handle. After a late-night shift, an unexpected car accident sends her hurtling into the chaos of the Sixteen Kingdoms period. The north wind howls and war rages across the land. The moment she wakes, she finds a swaddled infant abandoned in a ruined temple. The baby's delicate face is blue with cold, and its faint cries tug at her heart. In a world where human life is worth less than grass, a defenseless woman struggles to take a child from place to place. Drawing on her modern childcare knowledge, Yang Tian makes baby food from scratch, treats an umbilical hernia, and soothes the baby's night cries, giving the child a chance to survive against all odds.

By chance, she meets Shi Le, a Jie commander who is ruthless in battle but tender beneath the surface. He initially intends to wipe out every last remnant, but is drawn to the way she cares for the baby with calm precision and to her childcare ideas, so far ahead of their time. Amid flashing blades, she uses modern childcare to challenge the ignorance of the age and her gentle resolve to bridge the divide between peoples. On his bloody campaigns, he shields her from the elements and protects her and the child, his frozen heart slowly thawing in her warmth. The gulf between Hu and Han, the schemes of rival factions, and the uncertain road home all threaten to keep them apart. Yang Tian must use her expertise to protect the child while finding a way to survive in a turbulent age. Their chance encounter will ultimately be tempered by the flames of war into a love that transcends time, weaving a moving tale of childcare and enduring affection amid chaos.
