Liu Yi Rewrites the History of Yin and Shang

Liu Yi was a history enthusiast living in the modern era. One bizarre temporal maelstrom swept him into the Shang Dynasty, three thousand years in the past. Upon arriving in the Shang, he was stunned by its rigid class system, frequent sacrifices and divinations, and primitive methods of production.

At the time, the Shang faced corruption among the nobility and frequent slave uprisings within its borders, while powerful enemies surrounded it and border conflicts raged beyond. Liu Yi knew that to survive and change things, he would have to rely on his knowledge of history and modern expertise. First, he applied what he knew about agriculture to improve farming techniques and introduce new crops, greatly increasing grain yields and easing the people's struggle to feed themselves. This won him the support of ordinary people. Next, he advised the Shang king to reform the military and adopt advanced weapon-making methods, producing more powerful weapons and strengthening the army.

Faced with repeated obstruction from the nobility, Liu Yi used his intelligence and courage to maneuver among them and gradually dismantle the opposition. Thanks to his efforts, the Shang grew increasingly well governed, its economy prospered, and its military strength reached unprecedented heights. He successfully rewrote the history of the Yin-Shang, which had been headed for decline, and began a legendary chapter of his own as a transmigrator.
