Basketball at the Brink: From the Edge of Youth Training to the Top of the World

Two years after a severe ankle injury, Kong Chenyang has fallen from basketball prodigy to the edge of the youth training team. During a two-minute tryout, he ranks last in self-rebounds, earning his teammates’ jeers as a “good-for-nothing,” while the coach puts him straight on the cut list. No System to give him a boost, no extraordinary talent: all he has are the gym lights at five every morning and his sweat-soaked training shoes.

Called up at a critical moment in an intra-team scrimmage, he ties the score with a series of steals and three-pointers. In overtime of the final tryout, he sinks the game-winning shot and grabs the last youth team contract. Frozen out on the CBA court, he becomes a “clutch performer” with a 100% free-throw rate. When his place on the national team is questioned, he leads an upset over a European powerhouse in a warm-up game and becomes an overnight sensation!

From youth team substitute to league MVP, from being overlooked by sponsors to building a homegrown sports brand, from struggling in the World Cup group stage to staging an upset against the U.S. Dream Team and claiming the championship. With every diving save and buzzer-beating shot, Kong Chenyang proves that basketball glory is no privilege of talent: it is a medal earned through sweat!

With no golden finger and no cheats, this is a passionate epic about perseverance, teamwork, and faith. Watch an underdog rise through sheer ability to sweep the basketball world and make Chinese basketball echo across the globe!
