Ark Against Fate: 1979

Brilliant surgeon Chen Ze had achieved fame and success, but died suddenly. When he opened his eyes again, he had returned to 1979, to the remote, bleak village of Qingshangou! He had become Zhou Weiguo, the village's only barefoot doctor. Zhou Weiguo's original body had died from overwork. Before Chen Ze could adjust to the poverty, isolation, and utterly primitive medical conditions, where his entire inventory consisted of a kerosene lamp, a barefoot doctor's manual, and a few moldy tetracycline tablets, a dangerous case of obstructed labor struck the village Party secretary's daughter-in-law! The midwife was helpless, and two lives hung in the balance.

The modern medical knowledge sealed away in his memories came flooding back! No equipment? He would make simple instruments himself! No medicine? He would boldly combine the herbs on hand and use emergency acupuncture with pinpoint precision! With medical knowledge far ahead of its time, the solid foundation of a top student, and the courage to risk his life, Chen Ze (Zhou Weiguo) performed a surgery worthy of a miracle under the dim yellow light, saving both mother and child!

The name of the miracle doctor who could “bring the dead back to life” soon spread far and wide. Chen Ze realized that in this new life, saving one person made you a doctor, but saving the people made you a saint! Starting with Qingshangou, he would use advanced ideas to challenge the backward state of medicine, promote disease prevention, break down prejudice, reform outdated customs, and train new talent. He would even challenge the constraints of his era and turn his unfulfilled dream from his previous life, to heal the world and bring medicine to all, into reality, one step at a time. This legendary journey to defy fate was bound to be filled with obstacles, challenges, and storms that would shake people to their core!
