The Mischievous Child on the Immortal Path

When I was five, I buried the only family I had in the world. Then I decided to become an immortal. Others cultivate immortality to live forever and look down on all creation. When Tang Hao first began cultivating, all he wanted was enough to eat, to find the “really, really sweet fruit” his grandfather had told him about, and to make sure his friends never went hungry or cold again. With a battered cooking pot, three little tagalongs, and a seemingly far-fetched dream fit for a five-year-old, he stumbled into the brutal world of cultivation, where people would devour you without leaving a trace. People laughed at him as a “clueless brat,” bullied him for being young and weak, and treated him like an insignificant insect. What they didn’t know was that this “brat’s” heart was as sincere as gold and as tough as iron. He laughed in the face of despair and scavenged treasures from mountains of corpses. With a childlike innocence and cunning long forgotten by adults, he forged a path to the heavens that no one could ever imitate! Many years later, Tang Hao stood atop the clouds, and all the immortals bowed before him. He turned to the vast army behind him, an army that had already conquered the three realms, and grinned: “What are you all standing around for? Let’s keep playing!” This is a story about “playing.” Except what we’re playing with is this teeming mortal world, and the cycle of Heaven’s fate!
