Peerless Arrow Soul

The gifted esports player Lin Shuo, whose hand tendons had torn, clenched the keycap engraved with "Never Give Up" at his retirement press conference. The legend who dodged skills in the Rift with 0.3 seconds to spare could no longer withstand the combined assault of injury and public opinion.

As he sorted through his gear late at night, the keycap suddenly glowed blue. When he opened his eyes, he had fallen into an ancient border village engulfed in flames. Amid the ruins of broken walls, he picked up an unfamiliar broken bow to protect the children behind him. To his shock, the dynamic vision he had honed through years of esports had become the "Eye of Truth," able to lock onto his enemies' weak points. One arrow drove the enemy soldiers back.

Even stranger, the spiral pattern on the half-jade pendant around a child's neck was an exact match for the pattern on the back of the keycap. From virtual battlefields to the smoke of war and cold steel, Lin Shuo struggles to survive, bound to two worlds. At last, through blood and fire, he understands: the greatest honor is not lifting a trophy, but finding the courage, battered and bruised, to loose one final arrow in defense of those who need you.

This story is a love letter to my idol and to everyone who still carries regrets from their youth. It tells us that the greatest honor may not be lifting that trophy, but standing back up after being battered and bruised, finding the courage to fire the last bullet of your own, and knowing you have nothing to regret.
