The Thirteenth Sea

Nuclear winter devoured the land, and civilization sank beneath the sea. Thirteen deep-sea city-states and the N.O.A. Noah Federation control the thoughts of every survivor. To eliminate suffering, Noah is gently advancing the merger of consciousness, turning everyone into one boundless "sea." Lin Zhan, a solitary police officer awakened from the former civilization, unexpectedly retains his independent personality. He can feel pain, and that is what allows him to remain himself. In this world, pain is considered a flaw to be erased. Aisha, the only girl who has kept her original body and refused to connect her consciousness, is humanity's true "proof." In the deep-sea order where names, emotions, and memories are erased, they will use the last remaining boundary to resist the gentle assimilation beneath an endless night. If the self disappears, can humanity still be said to exist?
