Fireworks Beyond the Suzhou Window

Gu Yan moves into a new neighborhood and becomes next-door neighbors with Su Xiao, who runs a bakery. One stormy day, Su Xiao saves Gu Yan’s soaked design plans, and he repays her with a bowl of hot noodle soup. From then on, they grow closer. When work stress leaves Gu Yan unable to sleep, Su Xiao saves him freshly baked bread to warm him up. When Su Xiao runs into trouble renovating her shop, Gu Yan offers to revise the plans. A brief appearance by Gu Yan’s ex-girlfriend causes a minor misunderstanding, but through everyday moments like sharing food late at night and tending the plants on the balcony together, they realize they’re the kind of people who can build a warm, ordinary life together. In the end, Gu Yan puts up a custom neon sign outside the bakery and proposes to Su Xiao.
