The Blossoming Rise of a Sent-Down Youth in the 1970s

Modern project director Jiang You accidentally gets electrocuted while working through the night on a proposal. When he opens his eyes, he has become another Jiang You, a sent-down youth in 1975. The original owner of the body was timid and useless, always at the bottom of the work-point rankings, unable to get enough even to eat corn buns, and bullied and ostracized by the sent-down youths he shared a room with. Faced with barren land, a punishing work-point system, and a future that seems bleak as far as the eye can see, Jiang You clenches his fists. Since he has been given another life, he absolutely refuses to waste away doing nothing! Drawing on his modern knowledge, he forages for wild vegetables, improves farm tools, and experiments with high-yield crops, gradually going from the “deadweight” of the sent-down youth station to a local commune celebrity. Along the way, he meets Tang Tiantian, the village's most capable young woman. Kind and resilient, she sneaks him sweet potatoes when he's hungry and stands up for him when others question him. Their mutual support blossoms into affection, and in the resource-scarce 1970s, they join forces to face gossip and overcome unexpected crises. With sweat, they nurture hope and build a better life for themselves on the yellow earth.
