Wasteland: Echoes of the End

This is the story of Chen Mo, an ecology researcher, and Lina, a military medic, struggling to survive in a wasteland where civilization has collapsed. Faced with insect swarms and zombies spawned by an out-of-control genetic weapon, they place their hopes in the mysterious Garden of Eden, only to uncover the horrifying truth that it feeds humans to its insects. After escaping, they join forces with the resistance and gradually discover that the apocalypse began when the old world's “Nirvana Project,” intended to restore the ecosystem, spiraled out of control. While searching for the fabled Ark, they are forced to ally with raiders to fight the Unity Church's army of the undead. At last, they reach the Ark, only to face an even more desperate reality: its extinction protocol has already been activated. In this dire situation, Chen Mo's team abandons any hope of escape and chooses to fight on the surface. By combining human technology with the ecological wisdom of the insect race, they build the “New Sprout” underground city and create a new model of civilization based on interspecies coexistence. Through their actions, they prove the value of life to a cold AI. After a final battle against the remaining forces, they ultimately make the spore clouds recede, allowing a ray of sunlight to shine upon the earth once more and ushering humanity into a new dawn, one that embraces its scars and lives in harmony with nature.
