Siheyuan: Descendant of a Hero, I Snatch Li Xiuzhi from the Start

Winter, 1965. Courtyard No. 95 on Nanluoguxiang in the southern part of the capital. Eighteen-year-old Xu Weihua wakes from a deep sleep with the soul of someone from the 21st century now inside him. Looking at the certificates honoring fallen heroes, his medals for outstanding service, and the two plaques reading "Meritorious Service to the Nation" and "National Hero," Xu Weihua realizes that he is the sole surviving descendant of three generations of fallen heroes.

In this world, jokingly known as "The Courtyard Full of Beasts," the story is about to begin. Xu Weihua decides to use recuperating as an excuse to enjoy a comfortable life. But then he meets Li Xiuzhi, a young woman from Sichuan and Chongqing who was supposed to head to the Qilian Mountains, at the neighborhood office, and his plans for the future change completely.

"Comrade, I heard you're looking for a place to stay. I happen to have a spare room."

With Silly Zhu, Qin Huairu, Xu Damao, and the other "beasts" eyeing what he has, Xu Weihua reveals his status as the descendant of fallen heroes. With twenty thousand yuan in savings and countless ration coupons, he begins a passionate life of protecting true love and outsmarting the beasts in the courtyard.
