Naruto: I, Danzo, Finally Become Hokage

Amid the ruins of Konoha and the ashes of political intrigue, Shimura Danzō’s “Will of the Root” finally grows into a towering tree. After the Third Shinobi World War, he seizes the Hokage’s power with an iron fist, merging the Anbu and Root into a single force. From then on, Konoha becomes an efficient, merciless war machine. The Uchiha Clan is wiped out in the name of “rebellion,” and their Sharingan become medals of power on his arm. The Nine-Tails Jinchuriki is tamed into a weapon of the village, while the great shinobi clans all bow to absolute authority. Rejecting the illusion of peace, he uses a strategy of “sustaining war with war” to drive Konoha’s roots deep into foreign lands, reshaping the order of the shinobi world through fear. When the smoke of the Fourth Shinobi World War clears, the one standing at the summit is no hero, but the one-eyed “Shadow of the Root,” a ruler nurtured by endless darkness who nevertheless claims to have brought Konoha eternal prosperity. From Hokage Rock, his face gazes out over a new age, unified under oppression and trembling in silence.
