The Eternal Tomb Keeper

Chen Jiuguan, the 37th-generation tomb guardian of the Chen family, leads a team to break into nine ancient pre-Qin tombs in order to restore the seal on the “Eye of Heaven and Earth,” which suppresses the Wu Clan's bloodline. Along the way, he's betrayed by archaeologist Su Wanqing and hunted by Luo Qi, the blood-handed corpse driver. But in the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, he discovers that the “Eye of Heaven and Earth” is actually a genetic-engineering device left by an alien civilization. Only after he finally destroys the alien ruins on the far side of the moon does he realize that the tomb guardians of every generation have been protecting nothing but a lie: a higher civilization's means of controlling humanity. After civilization is rebooted, a girl bearing a Wu Clan totem picks up a fragment of an astrolabe in Dunhuang. The gears of reincarnation turn once more, and every civilization is doomed to perish in its thirst for the truth.
