The Soul-Sacrificing Nine Heavens Sword

Ye Chen and Ling Jiuxiao: their names are the most glaring footnotes in the history of the Xuantian Sect. The former is the sect master’s son, but was born with a damaged martial soul and cannot even master the most basic sword techniques. His fellow disciples mock him as the good-for-nothing young master. The latter is a Sword Immortal who fell a thousand years ago. His sword soul has been sealed inside a broken sword, and he has clung to life for a millennium, waiting only to see daylight again.

An unexpected cave-in at the Sword Mound leads Ye Chen into the place where Ling Jiuxiao is sealed. The family jade pendant on his chest suddenly grows hot and resonates with the broken sword, drawing Ling Jiuxiao’s sword soul into his body. From then on, two souls bound by fate inhabit the good-for-nothing young master’s body. With the pendant, Ye Chen unlocks the Soul-Sacrifice Sword Canon, but every session of cultivation brings the agony of the sword soul gnawing at his heart. Ling Jiuxiao guides him in swordsmanship with his remnant soul, while constantly facing the danger of being scattered into oblivion.

Caught between power struggles within the sect, enemies seeking revenge, and the reappearance of an ancient Sword Mound, the two are forced to share one body and fight their way back from the brink, step by step. When Ye Chen’s martial soul and Ling Jiuxiao’s sword soul finally merge, they awaken the legendary Nine Heavens Sword. It turns out Ye Chen’s “damaged martial soul” is the only vessel capable of bearing the sword soul and wielding the Nine Heavens Sword. The day the Soul-Sacrifice Sword rises is the day the Sword Immortal of the Ninth Heaven returns!
