Dragon Runes Carve the Path to Immortality

Chen Yuan was once the famed Dragon Abyss Sword Immortal of the cultivation world. Now his soul has fallen into the mortal realm, where he has become Chu Fan, the lowest-ranking illegitimate son in the Prince of Zhennan’s estate of the Great Chu Dynasty.

In his previous life, he cleaved the heavens with his sword, only to be betrayed by his closest friend and cultivation partner. As his life-bound dragon-patterned sword shattered, a wisp of his remnant soul attached itself to a good-for-nothing in the mortal realm. This body was born with severed meridians and could not absorb spiritual energy. The prince’s estate regarded him as a disgrace: his legitimate elder brother had his legs broken and tossed him into a woodshed, while even the jade pendant left by his birth mother was stolen from him. As he lay dying, he could not even beg a bowl of rice broth.

At the moment of death, the Dragon-Patterned Sword Soul hidden within Chen Yuan’s remnant soul suddenly awakened, tempering his severed meridians into a congenital dragon-patterned body! Dragon energy surged through the woodshed, and the guards who had bullied him were hurled away by its might. Everyone in the estate who had once looked down on him fell to their knees, trembling.

“When I, Chen Yuan, was an immortal, you were all ants. Now that I, Chu Fan, have been reborn, I will carve my way to immortality with dragon patterns!”

So what if he is called a good-for-nothing? Watch him temper his body with dragon patterns, seize the opportunities of the mortal realm to rediscover the Great Dao, fight his way out of the prince’s estate, shatter the dynasty’s chains, and sweep across the cultivation world. In the end, he will uncover the truth behind the shattering of the Dragon-Patterned Sword and awaken the dragon-patterned power that has slumbered since time immemorial, making the Ninth Heaven hear the name of the Dragon Abyss Sword Immortal once more!
