An Ancient Love Affair

The story is good up through Chapter 23. After that, the writing gets jumbled, so if you don't have the patience, I recommend listening to the audiobook instead. It's much more relaxing and enjoyable~ The story is based on my own real-life experiences. I'm serious, believe me! The heroine is called Xiyu, and the hero is called Luochuan. In their first life, they cultivated in the Immortal Palace, where romance was forbidden. By chance, they passed each other on the steps beside the Taiji diagram and caught each other's eye. That exchange of glances made their hearts flutter. The Immortal Palace discovered their relationship and punished them by sending them to the mortal world. In their second life, Luochuan was a cow and Xiyu was a bird. They stayed together, but the bird died first, and the cow was struck dead by lightning! In their third life, Luochuan became a prince and ascended the throne, while Xiyu was a village girl. They met and fell in love again, but fate was cruel: Luochuan died first, and Xiyu cultivated to immortality. In their fourth life, Luochuan was a young monk with an old monk as his master. Having attained immortality through cultivation, Xiyu found Luochuan again, and they fell in love once more. The old monk called it a doomed romance. Young monk Luochuan fell into demonic cultivation and was in danger of losing his life. Xiyu took him from place to place, doing everything she could to keep him alive, but it was too late. He died anyway. In their fifth life, Luochuan set out to cultivate immortality. On the road, bandits beat him half to death. Xiyu arrived too late. She killed all the bandits, cradled Luochuan in her arms, and fed him healing pills. Luochuan gave a bitter smile and died in her embrace.
