Synopsis

[Water Margin] + [Warring states and rival powers] + [Scheming warlord] + [Decisive and ruthless] + [Cao Thief story] After waking up, Cao Ze transmigrated into Water Margin and became a low-ranking clerk in Yuncheng County. At this point, Chao Gai had yet to rob the birthday gifts, Song Jiang was focused on seeking amnesty, Wu Song had yet to fight the tiger on Jingyang Ridge, and Lin Niangzi was slowly descending into the despair Gao Yanei had laid out for her... He knew the tragic fates of the 108 heroes inside and out, and understood the bone-deep pain of the Jingkang Humiliation better than anyone. He refused to accept this world that devoured its people, this rotten court, or Liangshan's so-called “Acting in Heaven's Name,” which in truth meant “Offering Our Necks to the Executioner's Blade”! “Song Gongming, your ‘loyalty and righteousness’ are nothing but a slave's instinct to kneel before the court! You have no right to save this world!” “Brothers, your ‘loyalty’ shouldn't mean becoming wronged ghosts buried in Chuzhou! I'll lead you down a different path!” When he rescued Lin Niangzi in front of the Yue Fei Temple, the System activated. From then on, by day he was the “Timely Rain,” more righteous than Song Jiang; by night he was a master schemer, more ruthless than Gao Qiu. He stole Hu Sanniang away and formed a battle-hardened women's army that struck fear across the battlefield. He won over Sun Erniang and built the greatest intelligence network in the land. He conspired with Li Shishi, quietly dismantling the court from within. People across the land called him “Cao Thief,” a man who stole other men's wives and daughters and had no sense of honor. But behind him stood the women he had pulled out of the mire of fate, along with a band of battle-hardened brothers willing to brave fire and water for him. “I'll bear the infamy. I'll reopen this bright, clear world for all of you!”

Looking for Water Margin Stories

I want to read a story where the protagonist opposes the Song dynasty, but Jiang Song and the other original characters aren't vilified... If not the Song dynasty, then opposing Hui, Qin, and Gao would also be fine.
