Fragments of Altered Memories

On a stormy night, Lin Wanxing jolts awake. The name “Su Nian” suddenly intrudes into her mind, along with fragments of memories that aren't her own: the stench of blood in an abandoned factory, a scratched silver pendant, a faint cry for help.

The scene of the dismemberment case she has just taken over as a forensic pathologist bears a startling resemblance to the one in her memories. Su Nian is a suspect in a serial case who disappeared three years ago, and the photo in the case file looks exactly like Lin Wanxing's reflection.

DNA from beneath the victim's fingernails matches both women. Rumors of “two souls in one body” circulate through the police station, while a mysterious shadow keeps appearing by her window. When she tries to piece together the truth, she discovers that her employment records and her friends' and family's testimony are all lies.

A microchip inside the silver pendant and an experiment number that repeatedly surfaces in her memories gradually reveal a horrifying secret: neither she nor Su Nian ever existed. They are merely experimental subjects whose memories have been altered.

When the real killer stands before her, Lin Wanxing must find a way out through her shattered memories. Who is she, really?
