Witness on a Rainy Day

On a stormy night, Chen Mo and Lin Wan stumble upon a murder. Beneath the dim streetlights, they lock eyes for three seconds with the masked killer, who then vanishes into the rain.

As the only witnesses, they give statements to a young detective. Yet their accounts inexplicably contradict each other: Chen Mo says the killer wore a black raincoat, while Lin Wan remembers it as dark blue. He recalls shattered blue-and-white porcelain at the scene, but she remembers only a bloodstained hemp rope.

Even stranger, when the police investigate, they find no trace of a crime. The victim, the weapon, and the bloodstains have all vanished without a trace. Locals say rainy days in this neighborhood often bring “hallucinations,” but the shard of blue-and-white porcelain that suddenly appears in Chen Mo's pocket, and the anonymous photos of rain boots Lin Wan receives every night, both point to a very real danger.

When Lin Wan realizes her old raincoat closely matches what the “killer” was wearing, and gaps begin appearing in Chen Mo's memory, they finally understand: witnesses were never bystanders.
