I Canceled My Girlfriend's Billion-Dollar Order Over a Mango

When I was seven, my mother brought home a handsome man who gave me a box of mangoes.

That day, as my father watched me savoring the mangoes, he signed the divorce papers and jumped to his death.

From then on, mangoes became the nightmare of my life.

So, on our wedding day, I told my wife, Lin Yan, "If you want a divorce, just give me a mango."

My wife held me without saying a word, and from then on, mangoes became taboo for her, too.

On Christmas Eve in the fifth year of our marriage, her childhood sweetheart left a mango on her desk at work.

That same day, my wife announced she was cutting ties with her childhood sweetheart, Liu Wenjie, and fired him from the company.

That day, I thought she was the woman fate had chosen for me.

Until half a year later, when I returned from overseas after negotiating a deal worth a billion dollars.

At the celebration banquet, my wife handed me a drink.

After I had drunk half of it, her childhood sweetheart, the man who had been driven out of the company, stood behind me and asked with a grin:

"How's the mango juice?"

I stared at my wife, Lin Yan, in disbelief, but she stifled a laugh.

"Don't be mad. Wenjie insisted I play a joke on you."

"I didn't give you a mango to eat. I only gave you a bottle of mango juice."

"But, but I think Wenjie is right. There's something wrong with you if you won't eat mangoes!"

"Look how happily you were drinking just now!"

With a cold expression, I raised my hand and splashed the rest of the mango juice in the woman's face, then turned and walked away.

Some things are never a joke.

The mangoes weren't. And neither was my decision to divorce her.
