Over a Mango, I Canceled My Boyfriend's Billion-Dollar Order

When I was seven, the pretty auntie my dad brought home gave me a box of mangoes. That day, as my mom watched me happily devour the mangoes, she signed the divorce papers and jumped to her death. From then on, mangoes became the nightmare of my life. So on our wedding day, I told my husband, Jiang Chiye, “If you ever want a divorce, just give me a mango.” My husband held me without a word, and from then on, mangoes became taboo for him, too. On Christmas Eve in our fifth year of marriage, his childhood sweetheart left a mango on his desk. That very day, my husband announced that he was cutting ties with Lin Rannan, his childhood sweetheart, and fired her from the company. That was when I thought he was the man destined for me. Until six months later, when I returned from overseas after negotiating a deal worth a billion. At the celebration banquet, my husband handed me a drink. After I’d had half of it, his childhood sweetheart, the woman he’d kicked out of the company, stood behind me and asked with a grin: “Does the mango juice taste good?” I stared at my husband, Jiang Chiye, in disbelief, but he stifled a laugh. “Don’t be mad. Rannan insisted I play a joke on you.” “I didn’t give you a mango, just a bottle of mango juice.” “But, well, I think Rannan has a point. There’s something wrong with you if you won’t eat mangoes!” “Look how much you enjoyed that drink just now!” With a cold expression, I lifted my hand and splashed the rest of the mango juice in his face, then turned and walked away. Some things are never a joke. The mangoes weren’t, and neither is my decision to divorce him.
