I Took Our Son Abroad for a Three-Day Competition, and My Professor Wife Recommended Her Male Student for Graduate School

On the third day of accompanying my son abroad for a competition, my wife, a university professor, suddenly called.

She launched straight into a barrage of accusations.

“We've been married forever. Why are you still buying private packages? It was delivered to the university, and my colleagues saw it. I was mortified.”

I froze for a moment, then replied at once:

“I haven't ordered anything recently. Take a photo of the shipping label and send it to me. I'll look into it.”

My wife's voice paused at the other end of the phone. Then she laughed as if nothing were wrong.

“Oh, then it was probably delivered to the wrong address. You're overseas, so it's inconvenient for you. I'll just return it.”

“You and our son take good care of yourselves over there. When the competition's over and you get back home, I'll treat you to a big meal.”

I smiled and said sure. After hanging up, I woke my son in the next room in the middle of the night.

“The competition's on hold. Your mom's cheating on me. We're going back to catch her in the act.”
