Public Enemy of the Server: That NPC in the Novice Village

The globally popular virtual reality game Oracle launches, and players are eager to become rulers in their own right.

But they soon realize something is off about Beginner Village No. 999.

Lin Xian, the quest guide, is definitely up to something!

Turn in a quest? He takes half the reward, calling it a “processing fee.”

Fail a quest? Sorry, your legendary dagger belongs to the Lin family now.

Insult him? Congratulations, you’ve won the whole server’s only “Bad Luck” debuff. You’ll step in dog shit the moment you leave home.

When the leader of the server’s top guild gets all his equipment looted and becomes a laughingstock, forced to run around naked, every player finally realizes: this NPC is the final boss!

And Su Qianqian, the server’s top beauty, finally gets it after three of her epic staves are looted in a row. “He must be a hidden ultimate intelligence! Suck up to him! We have to suck up to him!”

From then on, Lin Xian has a gorgeous, incredibly powerful number-one fangirl at his side, always thinking up new ways to help him “rip off” more players.

Lin Xian: I just want to quietly fleece the players and, while I’m at it, uncover the truth about this world... Hm? You say a GM is coming to ban my account?
