The Mute Wife of the Fishing Village: My Cursed Tongue Brings Ruin to the Whole Town

Modern woman Jiang Jiusheng is unexpectedly reborn as Liu Qingzhou, a mute widow in a remote fishing village of the Great Yan dynasty. When she opens her eyes, she finds a house with nothing in it. Her husband was conscripted into military service and has vanished without a trace, leaving behind three gaunt little children. Her vicious in-laws are eyeing her, ready to sell her for money.

Just when all seems hopeless, she discovers that she has awakened a bizarre “jinx” ability: good things never come true, but bad things do, and the more malicious the curse, the worse the backlash! She curses a shrew and the woman breaks her leg; she curses a bully and he falls into a cesspit. The villagers who once tormented her all suffer in turn. She uses her power to fight back, outsmarting the worst of them and putting her clever hands to work improving fishing gear and making shrimp paste. Starting from nothing in a dilapidated Sea God temple, she turns a life of hardship into one of thriving success.

But as her fame grows and her shrimp paste is sent as tribute to the palace, an even bigger conspiracy begins to surface.
