Sword Sovereign Who Subdues the Dark Firmament

Qin Mu, a menial worker at a remote sword lodge, is an orphan dismissed as “lower than dust” beneath an immortal sect. Born with damaged sword bones, his hands tremble whenever he grips a sword, and a passing Sword Immortal once declared that he would “never glimpse the Way of the Sword in his lifetime.” No one knows that half a “Heaven-Quelling Talisman” is hidden in the tassel of the broken sword he polishes day and night. Nor do they know that a fragment of an ancient “Sword Lord’s” soul lies dormant within his frail body.

While delivering a sword for the lodge, he is pushed off a sword cliff after trying to save a girl bullied by disciples of the immortal sect. As he lies at death’s door, his blood soaks the talisman, awakening the remnant soul of the Sword Lord. The Cangming Sword Canon floods his mind. From then on, Qin Mu takes a broken sword as his blade and his battered body as its scabbard, cultivating the Sword Lord’s path in defiance of his damaged bones.

The elders of the immortal sect laugh that “broken bones can never make a Sword Lord”? He cleaves the air with his sword, sharpening ordinary iron to clash head-on with immortal swords. Demons covet the talisman and ambush him? He forms a formation with the sword energy of the Sword Tomb and cuts the demon army to pieces. Only when his broken sword reflects the words “Cangming Sword Lord” does Qin Mu understand: this journey is not only a rise from broken bones, but the return of the Sword Lord. Watch as a menial worker takes up his sword and splits the barrier between mortals and immortals, using his broken body to hold Cangming at bay!
