You're a Hotel Management Major, and You Want to Get into Science?

After graduating with a degree in hotel management in 2003, Chen Yue hit one dead end after another and couldn't find a job. Then he unexpectedly found a copper coin in a spring, activating the Research System, which demanded that he quickly bind himself to a research institution. Since his degree was unrelated, not a single research institution was willing to take him in. With no other options, he applied for a job as a warehouse guard at an abandoned research institute, Red Star Institute 103. Chen Yue found Red Star Institute 103 deep in a remote mountain region. After completing his hiring paperwork and binding himself to the institute, the System rewarded him with 100 Technology Points and lithium-air battery technology. With the System's help, he repaired the equipment in one of the laboratories. Whenever he ran short of materials, he exchanged Technology Points for more. After finishing his daily duties, he began researching lithium-air batteries. One month later, he succeeded: the batteries had an energy density of up to 3,000 Wh/kg and a theoretical specific capacity of 3,000 mAh/g. After he reported his results to the institute's supervising research academy, Red Star Institute 103 sprang back to life. The academy sent a large support staff and research assistants to help Chen Yue with his work, and the institute established the Red Star Battery Factory to mass-produce lithium-air batteries. Each completed research project earned him Technology Points from the Research System, which he could exchange for new technologies. With the System's help, Chen Yue went on to develop battery technology, solar electromagnetic panels, aerospace engines, 5G communications, visual-assistance glasses for the blind, hearing-assistance earbuds for the deaf, chips, intelligent prosthetics, 3-nanometer extreme ultraviolet lithography machines, and more, steadily advancing Longguo's technological development.
