Synopsis

[War of Resistance espionage] + [Single heroine] + [Soul swap] + [Soul transmigration] A graduate student in history transmigrates into the 1937 Battle of Shanghai and becomes Shen Yanzhi, a Juntong trainee agent. He navigates between Juntong, the Japanese collaborationist regime, and the underground Communist Party, walking a knife's edge with only fragmentary memories of history to guide him. There is no romance, only a yearning to hold on to his beliefs and survive. Can he preserve his convictions while operating undercover in isolated Shanghai, and change the course of history?

Meticulously Researched Spy Fiction

Are there any spy novels where the characters don't give away their identities, appearance, or voice? I'm sick of these brainless plots. I just read one where, by chapter ten, a military intelligence agent saves a Communist and immediately reveals their identity. I'm so done.
