Record of a Boat Sailing Against the River

Lu Ziheng, a young man from the modern city, transmigrates into a martial arts world after an accident. He becomes a penniless, destitute scholar with no martial skills. When he unexpectedly saves Shen Qinghe, the orphaned daughter of a renowned physician, he is drawn into power struggles in both the martial world and the imperial court. The escort guard Feng Ji, the noblewoman Wen Hanyao, court official Xu Huaijin, ambitious schemer Duan Ting, and many other forces enter the story in turn, their plotlines interwoven. Amid danger and hardship, Lu Ziheng trains in martial arts and grows from a scholar into a strategist. He experiences the warmth of friendship and love, as well as the cruelty of betrayal and hostility. His search into the mystery of his transmigration sets off upheavals at court and stirs family vendettas and old grudges in the martial world. Ultimately, in the face of mortal peril, he grows into a pivotal figure who will shape the fate of the martial world. Across ten volumes, the imperial court and the martial world gradually converge, culminating in a finale woven with blood and tears.
