My Options Aren’t the Best

Ning Le is an ordinary graduate who firmly believes in “the optimal solution.” But on a stormy night, he gets struck by something called the “Life's Second-Best Choice Correction System.” From then on, all his plans for the future are thrown out the window.

[Ding! Host facing an important decision: job interview.]

[Option A: Demonstrate your professional expertise and answer every question smoothly to get an offer (optimal choice).]

[Option B: Give a long speech about the aerodynamics of bricks and suggest the interviewer try testing it with the CEO's head (second-best choice).]

[Option C: Perform a live lightbulb-swallowing act (suicidal choice).]

To avoid getting shocked by the System, Ning Le tearfully chooses B.

So he's thrown out as a lunatic… only to catch the eye of the owner of another small company on the brink of bankruptcy, who calls him “an unconventional thinker and a natural disruptor!”

And so Ning Le is forced to sprint down the road of “self-destruction.” While everyone thinks he's a lunatic, he keeps stumbling into the right opportunities, disrupting entire industries and reaching the pinnacle of success.

Years later, when a reporter interviews the mysterious business magnate and asks for the secret to his success, Ning Le gives a weary smile:

“Don't ask. The truth is… I really didn't want to choose that!”

This is the tragicomic story of someone “forced” to become a winner in life.
