After My Taoist Partner Died, I Took His Blade

I am the only disciple of the Daoist sect who knows the secret art of love-binding venom. To activate it, my heart must be in harmony with my Dao companion.

On the battlefield, Yue Zheng and I were invincible, until he died after recklessly risking everything to save me.

The venom turned on me, freezing my heart meridians inch by inch, like ice cracking apart.

Bearing his Broken Peak Saber, I searched the world for a way to break the curse.

Some said a celestial herb on Mount Tianshan could prolong my life. I climbed a sheer cliff, only to encounter a ferocious guardian beast;

others directed me to an ancient tomb that held a strange method. I ventured into its underground palace and found these words carved into the stone wall: “To break the love-binding venom, you must kill the one you love.”

The venom ate into my bones, and the blood I coughed up froze into ice crystals.

Then the spirit of Yue Zheng’s saber suddenly appeared in the mist. “Don’t believe that nonsense! The poison is eating away at your memories. You can only live if you forget me!”

I gripped the hilt he had left behind. Pain burned through my palm as the saber spirit’s shadow wavered, on the verge of vanishing.

“Forget you? Then let this poison take my life when it has eaten away the last of my memories.”
