The Echoing Generation

Beneath the calm surface of an ordinary world, an undercurrent stirs in silence.

Li Ming, a young archivist who spends his days buried in old documents, leads an uneventful life. Then one day, without warning, he experiences a strange “Echo.” It is indescribable, as though a sandstorm from billions of years ago has forced its way into his mind, carrying fragmented images, unfamiliar written symbols, and intricate diagrams that make him dizzy. Afterward, he finds that he can effortlessly understand an ancient pictographic language long since lost, and, in a daze, draw precise mechanical blueprints beyond the understanding of his time.

He is not the only one to experience an “Echo.” Around the world, people begin to awaken to Echos of their own. Some master legendary, long-lost architectural techniques; some can sing ancient songs they have never heard before; some sense energy fluctuations imperceptible to ordinary people; and some even acquire knowledge of unknown laws governing the universe.
