From Big Tech to the Wealthy Elite: A Programmer’s Career Change

Liu Yuning was a top student at Tsinghua and MIT, and a tech lead at a major company. She worked twelve-hour days, six days a week, until her health check came back with a red flag. Her doctor warned her: if she kept pushing herself, she might not live much longer.

She promptly took a year’s leave and went back to her hometown to recover. Her parents doted on her and made her healthy meals every day. She also signed up for classes in cooking, organizing, and makeup, transforming herself into a domestic goddess over six months.

When she returned to work, the new generation had already overtaken her. Her position was gone, and she had no choice but to resign. Then she came across an ad for a highly educated nanny earning 40,000 yuan a month. A lightbulb went off, and she changed careers.

She first worked for a kind elderly couple, and her cooking was so good that their granddaughter, Jin Qingyue, enthusiastically recommended her to her cousin, Lu Jingchen, the cold and aloof CEO of a top conglomerate, who suffered from chronic stomach problems.

After tasting her cooking just once, Lu Jingchen was completely won over. He sweet-talked her into coming to his home, then secretly raised her pay. When double her usual salary landed in her account, Liu Yuning couldn’t help laughing.

As they spent day after day together, feelings quietly began to grow. But she stayed clear-headed and fled back to her hometown, afraid she’d become a “free nanny” if they started dating. He came after her, confessed his love, and swore on his knees over a durian that he’d never manipulate her.

She set one condition: she’d only date him if he passed the civil service exam. He instantly became a thoughtful suitor, bringing her coffee, editing her PowerPoints, and keeping her company while she studied. The whole internet went wild.

She landed a secure government job, he officially became her boyfriend, and he visited her family to ask for her hand. They registered their marriage in no time. The whole internet buzzed: this generation’s domineering CEO is the ultimate stay-at-home husband!

A female programmer once crushed by code used her home-style cooking to turn a cold-faced CEO into a sweet puppy. Love begins with a warm meal.
