Splendid Waves Reborn

During the Wanli era, Shen Qingci, eldest daughter of the Shen family, a prominent Jiangnan weaving clan, is killed by her stepmother, Lady Li, on the eve of her coming-of-age ceremony. Su Wan, a modern graduate student in history, transmigrates into the dying Shen Qingci. To protect herself and her younger brother, she uses her historical knowledge and modern way of thinking to navigate the battles within the household, expose her stepmother's schemes, reclaim control of the household, and revive the Shen family's embroidery business. While traveling to the capital to seek out her relatives, she crosses paths with Xiao Jingyuan, heir to the Duke of Zhenguo, who is investigating a eunuch smuggling case. United by a common enemy, they gradually become embroiled in the struggle over the succession and the factional power plays.

From a Jiangnan household to the court in the capital, from business rivalries to defending the border, Shen Qingci uses her intelligence to resolve crises facing her family and her strategy to support the Crown Prince's faction. Xiao Jingyuan uses his military skill to guard the frontier and his loyalty to uphold integrity at court. In a turbulent age rife with intrigue, they are each other's most trusted allies and kindred partners. Together, they ultimately bring down corrupt ministers and secure the realm, making the Shen family and the Duke of Zhenguo's household pillars of the new dynasty. Thus unfolds the legend of “sharp minds hidden amid silken splendor, steadfast through storm and strife to calm the waves.”
