Devour and Evolve: I Get Stronger by Collecting Scrap

Long Xingchen was born with the astonishing gift of innate tenth-level mana, a peerless genius upon whom his family had pinned its hopes of bringing glory to their name. At the fateful Path of the Magus selection tournament, he swept through the competition and was hailed as the biggest dark horse. He was just one step away from earning the academy’s highest honor: a place in the Mana Infusion ceremony. But at the height of his glory, fate suddenly turned against him. When Long Xingchen angrily intervened to protect a female student being bullied by the children of the powerful, he incurred the wrath of the academy’s upper echelons. They framed him and stripped him of his right to compete! The chance at Mana Infusion that should have been his vanished as well. To make matters worse, the family that had once betrothed their daughter to him saw that he had fallen from grace and sent him a letter breaking off the engagement without a hint of mercy, humiliating him at every turn and casting him into the abyss. Overnight, he went from heaven’s favored son to an outcast despised by all. The genius’s light had gone out, until he touched the one keepsake his mother had left him: a mysterious Reverse Scale Necklace. It held not only a thousand-year-old dragon clan mana core, but also awakened the true power of the dragon soul deep within him, a power that had been misjudged and underestimated: devouring and evolution!
