I Have No Spirit Root, Yet I Claim to Lack All Five Elements

In ancient times, as primordial chaos first divided, the Five Elements established their order. There existed the innate Dao body, a unified whole, neither tainted nor pure, the form most suited to the Great Dao. By cultivating the Scripture of Primordial Unity and the Five Elements, one could draw upon the Five Elements' origin and forge an unparalleled foundation. Once a bearer of all five spiritual roots reached godhood, the Five Elements would cycle endlessly, allowing a day's cultivation to match a hundred days of another's. It was truly a broad road to the Great Dao. But then came a great calamity, and the Daoist lineages fell. The supreme secret art that could complete one's spiritual roots, the Scripture of Primordial Unity and the Five Elements, was lost. The Primordial Unity Dao Body was shrouded in dust, and none could recognize its true nature. Because bearers of all five spiritual roots made painfully slow progress at first and required enormous resources, they were dismissed as having “mixed spiritual roots” or “useless spiritual roots.” Yet the most tragic of all were those who “lacked all five elements”: people with no spiritual roots. They were cast into the very dust of the cultivation world, never to rise again. Ten thousand years passed, and seas became mulberry fields. The legends faded away, and the truth was buried beneath the sands of history. The world knew only that a single spiritual root made one a prodigy, two roots were superior, three were acceptable, four made cultivation difficult, and five... meant one was worthless. And those with no spiritual roots? They were worse than worthless... mere stones. Shi Fan risked his life and crossed perilous lands to gather spiritual treasures containing the origins of all five elements. With the Primordial Pearl protecting him, he defied heaven and completed his spiritual roots, becoming a Five Elements Dao Body! In an instant, the Five Elements flowed together, spiritual energy surged like a tide, and he broke through three realms in a single day. Phenomena spanning a thousand miles astonished the universe. As his former enemies and covetous foes joined forces to surround and kill him, Shi Fan stood with the Primordial Pearl above his head. A five-colored divine wheel crushed heaven and earth as a cold smile curled his lips: **“Do you know that this is exactly the moment I've been waiting for, when all of you gather in one place?”** From then on, the power of Primordial Unity and the Five Elements shook the entire cultivation world!
