Bright Sword: The Monk's Special Forces Journey

Chen Yu, a modern military academy cadet, is unexpectedly reborn as Wei the Monk from "Drawing Sword". Armed with fragmentary memories of the future and advanced tactical insight, he forms a special operations platoon amid the flames of the War of Resistance Against Japan.

He must use modern special operations tactics to take on elite Japanese troops like Yamamoto’s, protect civilians, and kill collaborators, proving that the “country bumpkins” of the Eighth Route Army can fight like an elite force. At the same time, he must contend with internal threats: a deputy regimental commander from a wealthy landlord family who steals ammunition and frames others, and a collaborator with the polished appearance of a scholar who aids and abets the enemy.

From a platoon leader charging into battle to a regimental officer commanding on his own, he must find balance between Li Yunlong’s “brute force” and Zhao Gang’s “reason.” More than that, he must find a way forward between his fading instincts and his unwavering sense of duty to his country. On the eve of Japan’s surrender in 1945, a secret letter bearing the words “Shanghai contact point” raises one question: how many treacherous collaborators are still hiding in the shadows?
