Great Ming: I Slacked My Way Into Becoming a Legendary Censor

While everyone else works themselves to the bone at court, Censor Su brings three young ladies along to slack off on the clock, and even turns the Hongwu Emperor into a shareholder! In the Golden Throne Hall, the officials are silent with fear. Su Yan yawns and doodles a turtle on his memorial, while his inner thoughts race: “Is Zhu Yuanzhang going to execute someone again today?” On the imperial throne, Boss Zhu narrows his eyes. Who’s insulting me? Seize him! The moment the Embroidered Uniform Guard sets out, Su Yan shifts the blame to the Ministry of Revenue, then drags all three heroines into the mess with him. “Come on, if we’re going to slack off together, we do it together!” The overworked censor Su Yan binds himself to the “Hongwu Slacking System.” Sleeping at work raises his combat power, and shirking his duties earns him promotions. He opens the “Lazy Fish Teahouse,” with Su Qingluo as manager, Shen Qingwu as bookkeeper, and Zhu Linlang keeping the peace. It makes a fortune every day. When it comes to the Six Ministries’ performance reviews, he lies flat for three days, and the System spits out Thirty-Six Stratagems for Fighting Corruption. Zhu Yuanzhang slaps the table. “This lazybones is more useful than the Censorate!” When Hu Weiyong plots a coup, princes fight for the throne, and apocalyptic pressure bears down, Su Yan leads the three young ladies and the entire court of officials in slacking off to save the country. In the end, he turns the Hongwu court into a happy kingdom of lazy fish, where everyone clocks in for work and heads out for hot pot afterward. Outside the Meridian Gate, Zhu Yuanzhang personally presents him with a plaque: “The Ming Dynasty’s Number One Slacking Censor.” Su Yan is just about to thank the emperor when the System flashes a red warning. [Slacking points exceed one hundred million. Hidden mission unlocked: Get all three young ladies to say “I do” at the same time.] He looks at the three pairs of sparkling eyes beside him. Who should he sweet-talk first tonight? Or should he run first? Zhu Linlang holds out a bowl of soup. “Drink my soup, and your life belongs to me.” Shen Qingwu offers him a bowl of porridge. “Finish my porridge, and the case files are mine.”
