The 101St Escape: Young Madam Lu Is Missing Again

[Marriage first, love later + chasing his wife to the crematorium + sweet pampering and a comeback] Su Nian, heiress to the Su Group, is forced into a business marriage with Lu Shiyan, heir to the Lu Group. After the wedding, she sees the marriage as a “cage of the wealthy” and begins her 101st escape attempt. She carefully plans her disguise, but Lu Shiyan always catches her. He confiscates her phone and uses her family and friends to pressure her. He seems cold and controlling, yet when she gets lost in the rain, he searches for her late into the night and awkwardly makes her ginger soup. When rumors are spread about her, he fiercely takes her side. Through their repeated push-and-pull of “escaping and being protected,” Su Nian gradually uncovers the truth: Lu Shiyan paid the exorbitant medical bills for her grandfather’s terminal stomach cancer, secretly resolved the Su family’s crisis, and even knew her when they were children. He still remembers her dream of “becoming a freelance illustrator.” Their so-called “marriage alliance” was nothing more than the protection he had kept hidden for years. Meanwhile, Bai Ruoxi, who has a crush on Lu Shiyan, repeatedly tries to drive them apart, faking photos and joining forces with rivals to spread rumors. Lu Shiyan sees through and crushes each scheme. Su Nian finally lets down her guard. Instead of “trying to escape at all costs,” she decides to “take him with her toward freedom.” She drags him around a small town and out to watch the sunrise, then proposes an agreement: “I’ll open an illustration studio, and I won’t run away.” In the end, Lu Shiyan gives her a cozy wedding and wholeheartedly supports her career. The two go from being “forced together” to “choosing each other.” When their daughter Nian'an is born, Su Nian finally understands: true freedom isn’t escaping, but turning the “cage” into a warm, light-filled home with the right person.
