Fan Shengmei Rewrites Her Fate by Turning Back Time

The moment I opened my eyes, I found myself inside the suffocating urban drama Ode to Joy, as Fan Shengmei, a woman everyone pitied and endlessly debated. A senior HR manager at a foreign company in Shanghai, she was a glamorous career woman on the surface, but beneath it all, she carried the burden of a bottomless pit of a family. Her brother was a good-for-nothing, and her parents favored sons over daughters. Back in their small county town in Shandong, her family treated her like an ATM, constantly hounding her and squeezing every drop of blood and sweat from her. In this timeline, she was on the verge of a breakdown after paying off her mother’s debts, being betrayed by her boyfriend, and suffering setbacks at work. She was about to meet the tragic ending of the original story. But this time, I would no longer be the “pretty vase” who swallowed every insult and relied on a man to save her. Since fate had given me the chance to return to the past, I swore to tear up the script and defy destiny!
