Mr. Lu's Shadow Is Missing

Su Wan, a third-year university student from an impoverished family, had the weight of the world on her shoulders: her mother was seriously ill, her younger brother was still a child, and she was secretly working at a bar. Because she looked almost exactly like Lin Anran, the woman Lu Zhiheng, president of the Lu Group, had once loved, he set his sights on her.

Forced to watch Lin Anran go abroad, Lu Zhiheng spent his days drinking himself senseless. After looking into Su Wan's circumstances, he used her family's security and her mother's medical bills as leverage to force her to stay. He cut off her mother's treatment, made her leave school, and blocked every way out. After they began living together, Lu Zhiheng coveted Su Wan for her looks, but gradually came to care about the vibrant person she was. Su Wan hated being imprisoned, yet wavered whenever he showed her the occasional kindness.

When Lin Anran returned, Lu Zhiheng's obsession flared up. He bluntly told Su Wan she was only a replacement, and her heart died completely. She seized the chance to flee far away. Only then did Lu Zhiheng realize he was deeply in love with Su Wan. He searched frantically for five years without success, his regret driving him ever deeper into obsession.

After escaping, Su Wan was rescued by medical professor Shen Cian. Five years later, she opened a flower shop in Yunxi with her daughter, Su Tongtong, and settled into a stable relationship with Shen Cian, who gently stood by her. When Lu Zhiheng ran into Su Wan, seeing her with Shen Cian and her daughter made him violently jealous, and he used his power to trap her again.

To protect Su Wan and her daughter, Shen Cian stood up to Lu Zhiheng head-on. When Lu Zhiheng noticed how much Tongtong looked like him, a paternity test confirmed she was his biological daughter. Overwhelmed with regret, he began his desperate campaign to win Su Wan back. Meanwhile, Su Wan was caught between her obsessive former lover and her gentle new one. Past wounds, her first love, their child, and countless other conflicts pushed their love and hatred to the extreme.
