War of Resistance: Serving as a Historian on the Front Lines

Lin Chuan, a history graduate student, transmigrates to the Shanghai battlefield in 1937 and activates the [Witness to History System].

The System has only one requirement: personally witness and record the key moments in the Chinese people’s struggle. The more complete the record, the greater the rewards. But the System’s rules strictly restrict him: he cannot reveal the future or directly alter the course of major battles.

And so he becomes a ghostlike observer, forced to go wherever the fighting is fiercest.

To stay alive, and to leave behind the final images and names of heroes destined to die, he uses the skills rewarded by the System to weave through a hail of bullets, becoming an “undying phoenix” who confounds both sides.
