After I Was Reborn, the God of Heaven Fell for Me

My sister and I found two little snakes.

The black snake had the bearing of a divine dragon. The moment he saw my sister, he wound himself around her wrist.

The only one left was a little white snake, barely clinging to life.

I felt sorry for him, so I took him home and cared for him devotedly.

By the very first year, the black snake had transformed into a man: tall and handsome, with an otherworldly air. He spoiled my sister rotten.

Meanwhile, I was the one running around every day to support myself and Little White.

I was well past the age to marry, but every man turned me down because I was always carrying a snake around.

They all said they would marry me if I got rid of the snake.

I beat them all and sent them packing.

I stroked the snake’s head to comfort him:

“Even if you never take human form, I’ll never abandon you.”

But then a flash flood struck, and Little White, who had been frail for ten years, transformed into a dragon overnight.

I struggled through the floodwaters to grab his tail.

But he only lifted my sister to safety.

So he had been looking at my sister from the very first moment.

And he had learned to take human form even before the black snake had...

When I opened my eyes again, I was looking at the frail Little White in my hands.

I flung him away without a second thought.
