Wang Dali Transmigrates to the Shang Dynasty

Wang Dali, the youngest associate chief physician in cardiac surgery at the city hospital, was used to the precision of scalpels and monitors. But an accident after a late-night operation suddenly swept her three thousand years into the past, to the land of the Shang.

The smell of disinfectant gave way to the smoky scent of bronze ritual vessels, and her white coat was replaced with coarse hemp cloth. In her hands was no longer a suture needle, but wild herbs whose medicinal properties she had to identify. The cracks in the oracle bones of Yinxu held tales of spirits and gods. Beneath the slave owners’ bronze axes lay human lives, cheap as grass. And this “outsider” from the future had only one thing to rely on: her skill at saving lives.

She met him: Zi Zhao, the youngest general under King Wu Ding of Shang. He had seen life and death on the battlefield, but never anyone who could use silver needles to stimulate acupuncture points, open an abdomen and stitch muscle, pulling the dying back from the gates of death. He saw her as a remarkable woman with extraordinary skills. But as they faced epidemics, injuries, and palace intrigues side by side, he glimpsed the vulnerability and kindness beneath her tough exterior.

Wang Dali struggled to survive in this ancient age, using modern medical knowledge to fight backward beliefs and the constant threat of death. She wanted to go home, but as she and Zi Zhao supported each other, her resolve began to waver. When modern science collides with ancient faith, and personal fates become entangled with the rise and fall of a dynasty, can a love spanning three thousand years leave an eternal mark in the oracle-bone script?
