Journey to the West: I Am the Demon Ape of Battle, and I'll Crush Spirit Mountain

The day he was crowned Buddha on Spirit Mountain was the day he was sentenced to an eternal prison!

Sun Wukong awakens memories of his past life: the golden body of the Victorious Fighting Buddha was nothing but a shackle used by the Tathagata to imprison his soul. In a fury that shook the heavens, he detonates his Buddhahood and reverses the flow of time, returning to the eve of his apprenticeship at Mount Fangcun.

In this life, the stone monkey’s eyes conceal ten thousand years of ice.

The Seventy-Two Earthly Fiend Transformations aren’t enough! He masters the Thirty-Six Heavenly Transformations, including the ability to manipulate creation and invert yin and yang, and awakens the power to traverse time and space.

“If the journey west is inevitable, then I’ll rewrite this calamity myself!”

Fahai sees through Buddhism’s hypocrisy before the Leifeng Pagoda; Yang Jian glimpses the Heavenly Court’s game on the night Yaoji falls; and after carving out his bones and cutting away his flesh, Nezha resolves to shatter his fate. Wukong pulls these three rebellious deities across time and space and brings them along on the pilgrimage!

The True and False Monkey King? The Six-Eared Macaque was reduced to ashes long ago!

Stealing immortal peaches at Wuzhuang Temple, seizing the yin and yang energies at Lion Camel Ridge, hiding karma before the Lingyun Crossing… All along the way, they appear to be protecting Tang Sanzang, while secretly snatching every opportunity meant for the gods and Buddhas of the heavens.

With Spirit Mountain just ahead, Wukong hoists his massive Chaos Cudgel and grins savagely:

“Tathagata, this time we’re not here for the true scriptures, ”

“We’ve brought the brothers to smash Spirit Mountain to pieces!”
