Glimmer in the Eternal Night

Police detective Lu Xiao is badly injured and falls into a coma. His younger sister, Lu Tang, stumbles into the hospital and crashes straight into Gu Chenzhou's arms. Through her tear-filled eyes, she looks as fragile as glass, and in an instant, she pierces through the icy defenses of the heir to the Gu family.

"Lu Xiao's sister? He's kept her well hidden." Gu Chenzhou rubs the lingering moisture from his fingertips, his eyes dark. Ignoring his friend's warning to stay away from his sister, he forcefully enters her world.

He pours resources into helping her pursue her artistic dreams, but when their relationship is exposed, the furious Lu Xiao punches him in the face. "Gu Chenzhou, I treated you like a brother, and you want to be my brother-in-law?"

Lu Tang retreats into her shell, but he shields her from sulfuric acid thrown at her painting. The vicious scar across his back is his silent declaration.

"Tangtang," he kneels by her hospital bed and kisses her trembling fingertips, laying all his wealth before her. "My life and my money are yours. Will you give me a proper place in your life?"

Later, beneath the spotlights at an international film festival, rising photography star Lu Tang is asked where she finds her inspiration. She looks back and smiles as the camera captures a man in a tailored suit below, gazing up at her with pride. "He is the wild, untamable light in my lens."
